Blount County Student Wellness Coalition

One of Be Aware Blount’s highest priorities is the wellbeing of the student population in Blount County. We work with all three school districts in a multitude of ways, from school health fairs, to teaching at alternative schools, to guiding health and wellness curriculum in our schools.

We also partner in leading the Blount County Student Wellness Coalition. While Be Aware Blount has taken the lead in this Student Coalition, we partner with the Coordinated Health Directors for all three school districts, as well as the health educators at the Blount County Health Department.

The Blount County Student Wellness Coalition is a student leadership group where students from all of our area high schools apply to be on the leadership team. These students have sponsors from each school (teachers, school counselors, etc.) who partner with the Student Coalition to teach, train, and empower the students to lead. These students help plan our yearly agenda, plan community events and observances of awareness days, and carry out and implement these plans to strengthen our community.

Applications for high school students to be a part of next year’s Student Wellness Coalition Leadership Team opens at the beginning of April. Please go to our “About Us” Page to contact us with your interest.
